Circle Crayons

I saw this idea on a friends blog, and thought it was a great idea. We tried it the other day, and the kids loved it. Morgan did really well at helping unwrap the crayons, & Jackson was just ready to put them in the pan. First, we cut up already broken crayons in pea size pieces & divided them according to their color, then we put different colors in a muffin pan, and then we baked them for 15 minutes at 170 degrees (or you could do 150 degrees for 20 minutes) We let them cool, and then put them in the freezer and then they popped out and the kids had fun little circle shaped crayons. The only thing I don't like about this activity is you kind of have to scratch the leftover ring from the crayon off in the muffin pan, but the kids loved coloring with them. (I couldn't get this picture to flip) :)

That sounds like fun. I didn't understand what you were saying when I was talking to you on the phone, but I think I'll for sure try it with my kids... now I have a reason not to throw away the broken crayons :)

Finally something to do with all those broken crayons no one want to use! Thanks! I am for sure going to try that!
